Accessibility Statement

Gezginbirchef should be easy to read and use for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation, zoom or a small phone screen. This page explains what I aim for, what I check, where the site still falls short and how to tell me about a problem.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

1The standard I aim for

I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has not been audited by an outside accessibility specialist, so I describe it as partially conformant: most pages meet the main requirements, and the known gaps are listed below.

2What I check

  • Text contrast: colours for text, buttons and labels are measured against their background, and colours that fell below the WCAG contrast ratio have been changed.
  • Phones and zoom: pages are checked at phone width (375 px) for sideways scrolling, text that is too small and buttons that are too small to tap. You can zoom up to 200% without losing content.
  • Structure: each page has one main heading, sections use real headings in order, and a “Skip to content” link lets keyboard users jump past the menu.
  • Images: photos have alternative text that describes what they show; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
  • Links: links say where they go, and links to other websites are marked with an arrow.
  • Videos: YouTube videos load only when you press play, and many have English subtitles.
  • Language: English pages are marked as English so screen readers use the right pronunciation.

3Known limitations

  • Not every video on the YouTube channel has English subtitles yet.
  • Embedded maps come from Google Maps, and their accessibility depends on Google.
  • Booking boxes and the pages they open belong to partner companies (such as Booking.com or GetYourGuide), and I cannot control how accessible those sites are.
  • Ads are served by Google AdSense, and their content is chosen by Google.
  • Some place names are written in their local language or alphabet, which a screen reader may not pronounce correctly.

4Tell me about a problem

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information from a page in a different format, email info@gezginbirchef.com. Please include the page address and a short description of the problem, and tell me which device, browser or assistive technology you use. I aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix confirmed problems as quickly as I can.
