Christkindelsmärik
the Historic Market on Place Broglie
Chrìstkìndelsmärik is the Alsatian name of the historic market. The official site says it began in 1570, making it one of the oldest in Europe and for a long time the only one in France; after moving between the cathedral square, Place du Château and Place Kléber it settled on Place Broglie in 1871.
Its tip: take your photo under the market's entrance arch (noel.strasbourg.eu).
